light off 7:36:00; M in FD 7:36:48, digs in nest; D in FD w/fluff 7:40:47; both
work on fluff; M lays down 7:44:29; stretches out right wing & picks at
fluff 8:48:19; stands up 8:48:53; preens 8:55:30; M tracks D, D in BSD w/fluff
9:04:10; D alerts 9:09:04 then M does; beaking 9:21:31, then both dig in nest;
D out BSD 9:26:50; M settles down in bole 9:51:44; sits up to preen 11:06:36; M
has been tracking something, calls out 11:45:14; D in BSD w/small stick
11:47:52 D to RB 11:53:56 & out 11:54:14; D in BD w/stick 11:56:00, stick
war…Mom wins; M hops to front of nest 12:03:24; M to LB 12:03:44 & out
12:04:01; D to LB 12:04:05 & out 12:04:08; M in BD w/stick 12:04:44, digs
in nest 12:05:45; M pulls up fluff 12:07:16; D in BD w/stick 12:12:16 (stick
lands on M), funny & long stick war ensues, M gets the stick wedged against
Cam2 branch 12:13:29, D steps up & moves it to the left side, M & D
still wrestling the stick 12:14:26, D finally takes over 12:14:19 & gets it
on the front left rail 12:14:15; D out BSD 12:23:27; M out FD 1:29:52; D in BSD
1:49:27; M in BD w/fluff 1:57:37; D reaches for a stick 1:54:39 but M takes it
from him 1:54:40 & places it on the right rail; D doesn't like the stick
placement so he tweaks it 1:54:58; D to RB 2:33:31 (not sure when he flew out);
M digs in fluff, then semi-lays down 2:42:43 stands up 2:43:00, watches
something 2:44:05; M vocally alerts 2:51:52;
M scratches head 3:03:17; M out FD 3:24:59; D in BSD 3:25:56; D lays
down 3:57:32 ; D quickly stands up 4:04:29 as M comes in BSD 4:04:30; D to LB
4:08:01 & out 4:08:16; M beakplows, then lays down 4:08:51; M stands up
4:11:28 & putters around the nest, fluffing the fluff, digging in the bole,
etc.; M bites Twiggy 4:14:58; M stands in the bole & digs in the nest 4:15:35, lots of attention being paid to the bole as she

circles around,
beakplowing & rearranging fluff; stops to look around 4:17:54; starts to
lay down but changes her mind 4:24:29; turns around 4:26:01, turns some more
4:26:12, and turns more 4:26:35, poofs up briefly; she looking down at the nest
and then up, around and back down at the nest 4:27:20; repositions 4:27:58
poofs up; she chirps & a shudder runs through her 4:28:32, more shudders
& chirps & repositioning; a push 4:29:29, 4:29:42, 4:29:57, 4:30:10, and a final push 4:30:25; M looks down
in the bole 4:30:32; wind catches M's tail & almost flips her over 4:43:48;
D flies behind nest & then in BSD w/pinecone stick 4:45:44, he places the
pinecones on M's back 4:45:47 then moves them to the nest 4:45:57; D checks for an egg but M blocks his
view 4:57:57; D stares at something off the nest, then turns & sees the egg
4:48:23, gets a good

look 4:48:30 as M is fluffing the fluff; D to LB 4:49:17 &
out 4:49:35; M settles down on the egg, getting up to roll it & fluff the
fluff frequently; D in BSD w/stick 5:36:31, almost steps on M's head to place
the stick at the FD; D to LB 5:42:36 & out 5:42:53; M uses wings to help
stand up 6:03:56 (good view of egg), rolls the egg & digs in the bole, lays
back down 6:06:10; IR light on 6:12:01; tucks head to sleep 6:13:17pm.
