surveying his domain, D lays down 1:02:01, he gets up 1:08:19 to sit and look
around some more; D lays back down 1:26:25; D gets up 1:47:03; D can’t make up
his mind, he lays back down 2:00:26, but gets up 2:01:59 & surveys the area
intently; D hops to RB 2:28:34 & out 2:28:53; M in
BSD w/headless fish 2:58:38; she
gulps down the tail 3:02:42 & shakes her head several times to get it all
the way down; M sits at the back of the nest for the next 45 minutes or so then
raises her rings to thermoregulate at 3:50:40; IR
light on 9:12:20pm.
Monday - April 15, 2019

straightens up a few sticks; IR light off 5:50:59; D to LB 5:56:10 & out
5:56:35. Cam
1 reset 9:22:07am. D lands on LB 1:49:46, he moves down the LB & hops to
nest 1:53:24; D sits & observes then hops to LB 2:05:10 & out 2:05:15; M
in BSD w/a small headless fish 3:39:50; M finishes her afternoon snack then
hops to the LB 3:46:12 & flies out 3:46:14;
Wednesday - April 3, 2019

the nest tree overnight; D steps from RB to nest 6:01:38am; D to LB 6:05:44
& out 6:05:55; IR light off 6:08:06; D in FD w/headless fish 6:49:47 &
starts eating 6:49:55 (it's so chilly you can see D's breath 6:50:02); D to LB
6:59:32 & out 6:59:47; D lands on LB 8:37:54, rouses 10:15:21; D still
perched on LB 10:44:10; D moved down the LB 10:59:55 & hops to nest
10:59:57 just as M flies in BD w/big fish & lands 10:59:58; M dives into
the fish & D looks on wistfully; M tries to gulp down the fish tail
11:06:45 but has to put it down & eat more of it before the big gulp at
11:07:15; D lays down 11:09:56, he gets up & down several times within the
next hour and a half; D stands up 1:09:42; D flaps onto front rail 1:09:55
& calls out 1:10:01, M joins in 1:10:05; D to LB 1:10:11, still vocal,
flaps wings, then flies out 1:10:20; M out BSD 1:49:29; M in over RB w/squirrel
2:09:37; M starts de-furring the squirrel 2:09:13; she looks around then starts
eating 2:09:49; M gulps down the pelt 3:06:57; M out BSD 3:09:33; IR light on
7:26:33pm.
Tuesday - April 2, 2019

clock not adjusted to DST): EARLY MORN: D fooled us last night by not leaving;
he spent the night on the RB & joined M on the nest at 3:01:02am for a
couple minutes (screen went black & did not see where D went); D hopped
from the RB to the nest 5:24:57 to visit w/M again; starts raining around 5:29;
D to RB 5:29:58 & out ?; MORN: IR light off 6:23:14; M out BSD 6:24:03; M
in FD just’a squeeing 9:08:43 w/D hot on her heels w/fish 9:08:47, which M
promptly takes 9:08:49 & starts to eat, so D digs in the nest; since M wasn’t
about to share her fish, D hops to RB 9:11:50 & flies out 9:12:27; M
continues to eat, she gulps down the tail 9:16:47; after finishing her meal, M
sits around in the nest for a couple hours before heading out the FD 11:31:32. IR
light on 7:27:51pm. Rocky
peeks over the left rail 9:09:48, peeks over again 9:09:59; Rocky scampers
across the nest 9:10:11; Rocky rushes to jump of the back of the nest 9:10:13
as D leaps from the RB 9:10:14; D must hear
commotion in the basement because he gives the nest hard pecks 9:10:20 &
9:11:06 and continues to look down; D to RB 9:25:32pm.
Saturday - March 30, 2019

6:09:55am; D in BSD 6:12:18; M digs in the nest while D moves a twig 6:12:30,
then both takes turns aerating the fluff; D rouses 6:16:39; IR light off
6:20:24; M to LB 6:21:05 & out 6:21:32; D quickly follows by hopping on LB
6:21:36 & flying out 6:21:39; D in BSD w/headless fish 5:34:04pm; D moves
his fish & starts eating 5:35:41; D finishes the fish 5:41:58; D picks at
the fluff, starts digging in the nest 5:42:58; looks around for a quite a while
before sitting down 6:44:59; D stands up 7:03:11; D to LB 7:04:02 & out
7:04:33; IR light on 7:20:40pm.

preens 6:28:28; D to RB 6:29:26; M preens some more 6:29:34; D out 6:30:48; IR
light off 6:31:13; M flaps as she straddles pesky stick 6:35:03; M out FD
6:36:49; >>> Cam 1 reset 11:52-ish. D in BD w/headless fish 12:16:22;
D looks around & waits to see if M will show up for 15 minutes or so before
he starts nibbling on the fish 12:34:21; D finishes lunch 12:42:38, fluffs a
little & then sits around until he hops to LB 1:27:36 & out 1:27:42; M
in BSD w/twiggy branch 5:23:38; After a bit of a struggle with it, she places
it on the left rail 5:24:26; M out FD 5:28:51; D lands on LB 6:34:12, looks
down as if he dropped a stick 6:34:18, hops to nest 6:35:15; looks around, digs
a bit, pecks at sticks; D out BSD 6:45:27; D in BSD w/stick 6:59:33; finally
gets it placed in the right spot 7:00:25; D out BSD 7:04:14; M in BSD 7:05:12;

Bluebird activity around nest 9:17:33-9:19:08; E lands on right side back tree
9:28:36, appears to hop from branch to branch 9:29:08 (or could be some
hanky-panky going on back there, lol); E leaves back tree 9:29:58 (didn’t see a
second E leave); D in BD w/small stick 9:34:34; D places it on right rail,
fluffs a bit, sits a bit, then hops to LB 9:45:16 & out 9:45:27; M in BSD w/small
log-type stick 9:48:44, she puts it on front rail; M aerates the bole 9:49:07
& fluffs some fluff 9:51:48; D in BD with a large wonky branch 9:52:28,
stick war ensues; feisty beaking 9:53:20; stick war continues 9:53:30, M wins!
D picks up M’s log stick 9:54:08 & puts it in back while M attempts to get
the wonky branch placed just right on the left rail; D tweaks branch 9:54:16
& M helps causing the branch to get moved to the front; intermittent feisty
beaking (lol); M gives up & lets D have the branch, he tweaks it & about
nudges it off the front rail 9:56:44; M preens while D tweaks 9:57:35; D
finally finishes tweaking & moves to the bole & aerates 9:59:03; D to
LB 10:03:46 & out 10:04:05; M out BSD 10:17:26; M approaches nest 1:32:36
& lands in nest from the BSD 1:32:39, D lands right behind her one second
later 1:32:40; both just sit & look around, feathers blowing in the wind; D
out over RB 1:37:54; D in BD w/fluff 1:40:05; D aerates the bole & M joins
in 1:41:16; D to RB 1:43:35 & out 1:43:54; D in BSD w/wonky branch 1:50:00;
M grabs hold of it as D tries to get it placed 1:50:13, mini stick war ensues
& M gets a piece that broke off 1:50:18; D places his part on right front
rail & tweaks it 1:50:33; D grabs M’s portion 1:51:04 & M grabs it, too;
another stick war 1:51:07, D gets it & puts on right rail 1:51:20; D steps
onto RB 1:54:12 & out 1:54:18; M up & over LB 1:57:03; D in BD w/headless
fish 6:23:06; M in BSD 6:26:25; D lays down 6:30:19; M backs up & starts to
eat fish 6:45:23; D gets up 6:45:51, moves around the bole & aerates; M
gets a piece of straw caught in her beak 6:50:14; D rouses 6:50:44, hops to RB
6:51:27; M feaks 6:51:54; D hops back to nest 6:52:00; M grabs a long pine
branch & stands it on end 6:52:11 & D pushes it out of the way then
goes back to aerating the bole; M hops to LB 6:53:19 & out 6:53:25; D tweaks

FD w/UFO 9:52:08; M in FD right behind D 9:52:14; D feeds M a couple bites
9:52:18 of something he had right in front of him, not the UFO; D nestorizes
9:52:58 & M watches; both just sit & survey the area for five minutes
or so, then D goes back to fluffing fluff 9:57:46; D stops fluffing 9:58:21
& sits w/M enjoying the day; D decides to rest a bit & lays down in the
bole 10:03:33, kicking his feet up as he’s prone to do (lol); M starts eating
10:47:45; D gets up 10:49:37 & fluffs some more; D to RB 10:53:01 & out
10:53:22; unfortunately, M is facing the BD whiles she eats, but she appears to
be enjoying her meal immensely; M finally turns sideways so we can see her chow
down at 11:09:10 just in time to see her try and gulp down the last of it
11:10:54, but she can’t so she goes back to eating it; the big gulp comes at
11:14:18; M out BSD 11:16:20; D in to LB 1:16:14; preens 1:23:58; rouses
1:34:38; D out w/o going to nest 1:50:24; Cam 1 reset 6:08pm; D in BSD w/fish 6:40:42
with a squealing M hot on his heels 6:40:46; M grabs the fish 6:40:55; M gulps
down the fish 6:42:58 while D watches; D moves a stick 6:43:05 then digs in the
fluff; M out BSD 6:48:02; D arranges some fluff 6:48:13; after a couple of
false starts, D flies out BSD 6:52:22; IR light comes on 7:07:11pm.

from nearby 6:54:51; IR light off 6:56:52; D rouses 6:58:09, flies out BSD
6:58:35; flock of geese heard passing by 7:03:18; Cam 1 reset 10:22am; D in FD
over LB w/headless fish 12:41:16; M can be heard squeeing as he lands; M in to
LB 12:41:21; M to nest 12:41:47; M claims fish 12:41:51; D moves a stick from
the back rail to the front rail to trim as M begins to eat 12:42:04; M tries to
swallow fish 12:42:58; After nibbling on fish, M swallows it 12:43:46; M out
BSD 12:44:28; D checks for missed morsels then hops to LB 12:44:49; and out 12:44:54; Flyby right side 6:25:23; E
leaves perch on back tree (just to the right of Cam 2 branch, just above nest)
& flies further back 6:47:04; other E leaves same back perch & flies to
back tree 6:48:14; IR light on 6:51:52pm.

w/headless fish 8:20:01; M squees her thanks to D & they have a little
chat; M takes the fish 8:20:45 & begins to eat while D heads to the Y-nook
& hops to RB 8:21:22 & out 8:21:29; M finishes her fish & flies out
the BSD 8:25:48. M in BD w/pine bough branch 10:04:41, once placed, M pulls up
some fluff 10:05:00 & spreads it; D in BSD w/stick 10:05:27, M gets the
stick 10:05:37 & places it on the front rail; D gets the huge log & M
helps 10:05:50; they both proceed to tug & pull on it 10:07:03; D
nestorizes then moves a stick 10:10:56; M flies out BSD 10:11:17; D watches M
leave then he hops to RB 10:12:19, he remains perched for several minutes &
finally flies out 10:17:42; D in BSD 10:45:48; M flies left to right in
background 10:49:51 & lands on bonding branch; D watches area for a bit
then flies out BSD 10:50:22 & heads to back trees; D approaches nest from
back trees 10:52:18 & enters BSD 10:52:23, he checks out right rail
10:52:44; M leaves the bonding branch 10:54:15 & it looks like she flies to
& lands on another branch 10:54:21 (upper right screen); M leaves that
branch 10:54:29, goes to the left, arcs & flies in BSD 10:54:33; M moves a
small stick & D helps 10:54:45; they both move sticks & nestorize
10:55:15; M grabs hold of the huge log 10:57:25, D helps; they manage to get it
way up on front rail (practically out of view) 10:58:20; M grabs it again
10:58:39 & totes it around trying to get it placed; D helps again 10:58:58;
D hops to LB 11:00:20; M picks up the log again 11:00:34 & struggles with
it for a couple of minutes, she places it on the right front rail 11:02:19
& fluffs some fluff; in the meantime, D has been perched on the LB, he
finally flies out FD 11:02:47; M stays on the nest alone looking around, she
hops to LB 11:11:13 & finally flies off 11:11:17. M in BSD 5:29:01, D
floats in BSD (windy evening) 5:29:17; D digs in nest 5:20:43, M digs briefly
5:30:08; D to RB 5:30:38 & out 5:30:48 and M tracks his movements; M rouses
5:39:12 and then flies out FD 5:39:36; D flies toward the nest 6:53:25 & in
BSD 6:53:38; D digs in nest bole 6:54:07 & pulls out B12's remains 6:54:40;
D moves the remains to pantry area 6:54:52, places foot on it 6:55:23 and
starts eating; D looks around 7:00:18; IR light on 7:00:21; D flies out 7:00:54pm.

6). No rain for a change this morning (YAY!) & M is sleeping w/her head
tucked 6:44:16, but D wakes her when he lands on the back rail 6:46:45; D
watches as M gets up to check on baby 6:47:47; S/C #1 M rouses 6:49:30; D moves around the nest to right side 6:49:58
& M wing-flaps as she turns around & hops to LB 6:50:10 & out
6:50:13; D tends to baby then snuggles down 6:50:54; IR light off 6:58:51; D up
7:13:09 to feed B12 (his/her little crop is almost bigger than his/her body
(lol); feeding finished, D snuggles down 7:19:04; D quizzically looks down his
chest 7:48:01 as if to say, “Hey little one, whatcha doin’ down there?”; D gets
up 7:48:20 & heads for the pantry, takes a nibble of something then turns
back to B12 7:48:57, D rouses & snuggles down 7:49:13; D up 8:16:22 &
B12 sits up tall expectantly waiting for food; D gives B several bites 8:16:55
then tucks him in 8:19:43; S/C #2 M
in BD 8:37:30, D gets up & hops to RB 8:37:43 & out 8:37:58; M grabs
nestover squirrel 8:38:39 & and tries to gulp it down 8:39:52 but puts it
down 8:40:03; M moves B13's remains from back of pantry to front 8:40:17; M
moves into position over B12 8:41:36, snuggles down 8:42:10 only to get up a
few times to nudge B12 back under her, finally settles down 8:44:57; M stands
up 9:14:11 and turns around, fluffs the fluff and then wiggles back onto B12
9:15:51 who wiggles & squirms making it hard for M to get comfy, M settles
down again 9:18:27; M stands up 9:58:02, opens & flaps wings 9:58:12; M
flies to LB 9:58:30 where she stands on one leg; M opens wings and the wind
hovers her back to nest 10:00:19; M picks up nestover squirrel 10:00:50, M
tries to gulp down the squirrel 10:01:22 but doesn't succeed; M feeds B12 some
squirrel 10:02:50; S/C #3 M flies
out FD 10:27:24, D in 10:07:45, snuggles down 10:08:11; D repositions 10:30:45,
10:32:00, 10:54:25; D stands up 11:23:50; D moves to pantry 12:24:13 and defurs
squirrel; feeds B12 12:25:16; B13's remains catch on D's talons as he moves
back toward B12 (ends up at the top of the pantry pile) 12:28:31, D snuggles
down 12:28:41; D shows a lots of interest in something flying around, tracks it
for quite a while 11:53:21; D repositions 12:06:32; tracks something 12:07:30;
D backs off of B12 12:29:28 & heads to the pantry 12:29:36 where he
possibly pulls off a piece of B13 12:30:21, offers a bite to B12 but s/he's not
interested 12:30:27; B12 finally takes a bite 12:32:05 then D starts feeding
B12 some squirrel; D pulls B13's remains back to the pantry 12:33:35 &
attempts to feed B12 a few bites, which B12 accepts at 12:34:59; D snuggles
back onto B12 12:35:37; D tracks something again 12:39:25; wind is really
strong as D calls out to M 12:55:14; S/C
#4 M hovers in BD w/fish 12:55:19, D stands up 12:55:23 moves to
right-front rail 12:55:26, D to RB 12:55:37 & out 12:55:46; M starts eating
stuff in the pantry (possibly including B13) 12:55:49; M moves a squirrel
12:58:50 then picks up the fish 12:59:06; M feeds B12 a
bite of fish 1:00:54, moves squirrel 1:01:35 & 1:01:50; M tries to gulp
down squirrel but quickly stops 1:02:18; M feeds B12 1:03:24; M fights the wind
to move over to B12 1:06:26, arranges fluff, snuggles down 1:09:05; M tracks
something 1:10:02; M still watching as she vocally alerts 1:31:12, 1:31:45; M
stands up 1:44:11, moves away from B12 1:45:08, hops to front of nest 1:45:41,
flies out BSD 1:46:15; M in BSD 1:47:03, calls out 1:47:15; M feeds B12 some

off of B12 2:19:50 to better see what is flying around; M calls out again

D in BSD 2:21:26 and both watch something; M moves away from B12 2:22:50 and
flies out FD 2:23:09; D picks up the fish 2:23:50 & eats a bite then feeds
B12 (taking a few bites for himself) 2:24:19; D wiggles onto B12 2:27:42; S/C #6 D chirps a greeting 3:26:34 then
stands as M comes in BSD w/fish 3:26:41 , D rouses 3:27:39, hops to RB 3:27:47
then flies out 3:28:26; M feeds B12 some fish (and eats some too) 3:28:38; D
flies by behind nest 3:32:24; M straddles B12 3:33:16, wiggles down 3:34:15; M
calls a greeting to D and we see his shadow approaching 4:10:14, D in BSD w/headless
fish 4:10:17, M softly chirps to D 4:12:15, D rouses 4:13:37 as M continues to
sweet talk, D hops to LB 4:14:51 & flies out 4:14:59; M crop drops 4:37:23;
M gets up 4:37:39, despite cautiously moving away from the bole, she gives B12
a pretty good nudge/kick with her left talon then heads to the pantry 4:38:18; M
grabs one of the older headless fish 4:38:36 & attempts to gulp it down but
fails 4:38:55, she drops it, takes a nibble & tries again 4:39:06 &
fails again; M puts the fish down to nibble on it 4:39:10 then finally manages
her big gulp 4:39:24; she grabs another fish 4:39:30 & nibbles on it 4:40:07;
M gets a piece of hay caught in her beak 4:40:34; M feeds B12 4:42:32; M
snuggles down 4:49:37; M squees as D approaches 5:08:18 & lands on back
rail w/another fish 5:08:21; after
looking around, D hops to LB 5:09:34 & out 5:09:36; M up 5:45:56 &
heads for the pantry 5:46:40, she grabs a fish & begins to eat 5:46:57, she
starts feeding B12 5:48:24; M gulps down a big chunk 5:53:47; one fish gone, M
starts on another one 5:55:13, M offers B12 gets a bite 5:56:21 but it’s too
big so she eats it 😀; M gulps down a fish tail 5:56:35 then shakes
her head trying to get rid of hay stuck in her beak (success!); dinner done & baby tucked in 5:59:00; S/C #7 D approaches the nest
6:31:22 & brings in fluff 6:31:25; M chirps & spreads fluff 6:31:33,
she gets up 6:31:49 & gets a fish from the pantry 6:32:16, she puts that
one down & grabs a smaller piece 6:32:31 & gulps it down 6:32:36; she
picks up the first fish again 6:32:49 & begins eating, she takes one bite
& a nibble then tries to swallow the rest of it whole but fails, she turns
her back on us (drats!) to finish it off; in the meantime, D is nudging B12 who
appears to be sound asleep 6:34:03; goodness, she finishes the fish & pulls
out nestovers 6:34:47 & takes a bite then decides she doesn’t need it &
flies out the BSD 6:35:11; D snuggles down on the little one 6:35:36 & pulls
fluff up close; D repositions 6:37:51; D messes w/a stick 6:42:54; S/C #8 M in BSD 6:43:23, at long last D
gets up 6:48:32, he hops to LB 6:48:48 & out 6:49:02; M aerates the bole,
pulls fluff in close & snuggles down 6:52:59; by 6:56:20, M is ready to
sleep and has her head tucked; IR light on 7:00:07pm.

5): It is 52º there now and Mom is sleeping with her head tucked on her back
6:15am; M wakes up and starts preening with head still tucked 6:47:33; Mom is
up at 6:58:17 and B13 is almost completely cover with straw; M snuggles back
down 6:59:49; Mom stands up 7:01: 10 and stretches her wings 7:01:23, calls for
D 7:01:33 then flaps her wings 7:01:47; D lands on LB 7:02:04 and M & D
chatter while M wingflaps 7:02:09; M offers B12 a bite and B12 face plants
7:02:58, M offers again and feeds a chirping B12 7:03:05; D leans forward
several times to watch the feeding 7:06:49 ; D moves down LB 7:08:36; S/C #1 D to nest 7:08:46, M flaps her
wings 7:08:54 & flies out BSD 7:09:21, D snuggles down 7:09:40; D raises up and uses beak to nudge B12 back
under 7:09:51, snuggling down again 7:10:00; IR light off 7:17:18; raining at
7:30am; M flies behind nest 8:12:18; S/C
#2 M in FD w/headless fish 8:12:28, M moves the fish to the pantry 8:12:49,

then eats part of it; M drags squirrel to the pantry & D moves to front of

over the eaglets 12:01:33, M fluffs the fluff, snuggles down 12:02:12; feeding
12:30:08; M calls to D as he flies in FD w/fish 12:41:14, D looks around for a
minute then flies out BSD 12:42:20; M repositions 12:44:41; M stands up 1:39:37
& calls for D 1:39:51, S/C #5 M
flies out BSD 1:40:42, D lands on LB 1:41:37 & chatters w/Mom, D hops to
nest 1:42:46, D picks up nestover squirrel 1:42:50, D feeds B12 squirrel then
fish 1:43:18; D snuggles down on the eaglets 1:46:52; B12 is peeking out so D
raises up to reposition 1:47:33 (D doesn’t quite have the girth as M, lol), B12
all tucked under 1:47:44; B12 is squirming under D so he raises up, rouses

vocalizing; he turns back to check his eggs (he has a stick stuck in his
