1:57:44 as M & D track something; both M & D vocal 1:57:51; D does a
bit of nestkeeping 1:58:38; M turns around in the nest, wing-whacking D in the
process 2:18:26; D walks up on the front rail 2:20:11, hops to LB 2:20:15; D
walks down the branch 2:21:12, hops to the nest 2:21:14 & pecks at the
fluff; brief beaking 2:23:36; D out BSD 2:24:07; D flies to perch in a tree
behind nest 2:24:21; a feather flies off the back side of the nest 2:27:19

around 2:22:34; D in over RB 2:23:11; D starts tidying up sticks 2:23:28; D out
BSD 2:31:00; D in over RB w/stick 2:34:53; D works on stick at the front rail
2:55:43, bops M's tail with a stick 2:55:31; D out BSD 3:08:31 & flies to
back trees; D leaves back trees 3:12:33, flies in FD & crashes into M
w/stick 3:13:02; mockingbird squawks nearby 3:18:47, but leaves when it doesn't
like the odds (2 against 1) 3:19:42; M squees a couple of times 3:22:41, then D
moves a stick from the front right rail 3:22:48; D hops to RB 3:30:00, flies
out 3:32:16; M calls out as D flies in FD with a big stick 3:34:36 (barely
missing hitting M); D moves his stick 3:35:56, grazing M, she beaks him
3:36:01, he beaks back 3:35:06 & she moves up onto the right rail to get out
of his way; M moves back onto the nest 3:57:45; D to RB 4:00:49, rouses
4:02:12, D flies off 4:04:42; M calls out 4:11:16, D in over RB w/stick
4:11:18; D places his stick then looks around; D out BSD 4:22:18; M still on
the nest as of 5:50pm; mockingbird lands on left branches & taunts M
5:55:48, starts dive-bombing 5:56:12; M flies out BSD to find some peace &
quiet 6:02:18; IR light on 9:13:51pm.

digs in the nest; D turns around on the branch & hops back to the other
branch 6:24:56; D moves out of view 6:26:28, then moves further out 6:27:09
mockingbird screams & M jumps 6:27:48; D moves to a back branch (possibly
flies out) 6:28:15; M scratches her head 6:28:56; D flies behind nest 6:29:46
& in over RB w/small stick 6:29:55; M backs up onto right rail to get out
of D's way 6:32:17; M steps back to nest 6:40:06; M out BSD 6:43:53; M in FD
w/stick 6:48:53 and D 6:49:07 tells her he wants it, stick war 6:49:14 (Dad wins);
D to RB 6:52:36 (possibly files out 6:53:15); D lands on RB 6:59:53, hops to
nest w/small stick 6:59:57; D hops to LB 7:04:23; D out 7:08:13; D in BSD w/pinecone
stick 7:15:41; D out BSD 7:34:07; here comes the mockingbird 7:44:20 to
aggravate M; MB dive-bombs M 8:51:41 & harasses her some more for several
minutes; M lays down 9:21:50; M still on the nest at 10:52:00, having endured
another MB attack around 10:21:00 & just before
11:00:00; she finally has her fill of pesky MB & flies out the BSD
11:01:04; late
afternoon storm rolls through starting around 6:40pm; IR light on 9:17:49pm.

& tweaks a few others, D out BSD 6:18:03; thunking noise 6:19:08 (may have
been a pinecone falling?); Cam reset 3:27pm; (not sure if there was anything
before the reset; skimmed dvr & haven't seen anything after); IR light on
9:19:00pm.

12:10:28 then to nest 12:10:30; D out from right front rail 12:32:22; D in FD
w/stick 12:41:48, which he totes around then places on right rail 12:42:12; not
satisfied, D moves the stick 12:42:25 to the front rail, then moves a pinecone
& stick out of the way; M out BSD 1:26:25; a couple minutes later, D steps
up to RB & flies off; Cam 1 reset 2:20:50; D in BD w/headless squirrel
6:25:04; D enjoys his meal, scarfing down the remaining portion a la Mom
Berry-style 6:52:43; D & his full crop hop to LB 6:56:44 & flies out
6:57:04; IR

stick, which he places on the right front rail; after standing on the right
front rail for a minute or so, D hops to RB 4:32:36 & out 4:33:55; D lands
on a branch way back behind the nest tree on the right (he looks like a speck)
4:42:34; he moves to another branch 4:44:46; D flies to yet another branch 4:45:47
then he drops down out of view behind the nest 4:46:00 (not sure if he’s playing
hide-n-seek or trying to entice M); fly-by
4:47:51, D in BSD 4:47:57; M out over LB 5:01:56; D waits a couple minutes to
see if M is coming back, decides she isn’t so out the BSD he goes at 5:03:48; M
in BSD w/stick 5:24:17; D lands on LB 5:29:42, to nest 5:29:52; D moves a stick
5:30:03; M backs up on right front rail & perches, giving D room for his
fluffing duties 5:30:48; D
to RB 5:46:40 & out 5:47:10; D in BSD w/stick 5:49:18, M patiently watches
D place his stick & rearranges other ones; D to LB 6:04:20, D turns around
to face the nest 6:04:45 & rouses 6:04:57; D turns around again 6:05:48
& flies out 6:06:04; M looks around, preening occasionally, finally lays
down 8:05:56; M stands up 8:51:44; Cam reset 8:54; IR light on 9:14:48 & M
is still on the nest.

onto RB 12:34:29; and out 12:34:42; Flyby behind nest as M watches 12:37:41; D
in BSD w/stick 12:37:57; D to RB 12:45:56; D rouses 12:46:38; and out 12:46:55;
M still on the nest soaking up the sun 1:12:01, she scratches an itch 1:13:01; two
big ol’ crop drops 1:21:34; M up, over LB & out FD 1:30:03; Cam
1 reset 3:30; IR light on 9:04:36pm.

her head 8:22:14; D circles in the background 8:48:24 & lands on a tree on
the back top-right side 8:48:35; D hops to a different branch 8:51:18, flies
behind nest 8:51:37, then in over RB w/stick 8:51:48; D to RB 8:59:01; IR light
on 8:59:15pm.

flycatcher lands on left side of nest 1:07:55, it sees D & quickly flies
off 1:08:06; D in BSD 1:08:10; D to LB 1:12:48; hops back to nest 1:16:13; crow
lands on 11:00-branch 3:39:46, hops to nubby branch 3:40:02, flies off 3:40:27
& then is back 3:40:30, flies off when it sees D coming in 3:40:43; D in FD
w/a talon resting for a second on LB as he enters the nest 3:40:47; D to LB

stayed on the nest for most of the night, arriving in the wee morning hour of
3:05:41am via the BSD; M calls to D 6:21:45; D leaves perch in background (on
right side) 6:22:58, flies in BSD w/stick 6:23:16; M stretches wing 6:25:37; D
out BSD 6:26:38; IR light off 6:31:12; M rouses 6:33:17; M to LB 6:34:20 &
out 6:34:23; D in FD 9:50:34; D lays down 10:26:36; M in
FD 10:33:46; M
aerates the bole then lays down 11:53:49; D to RB 12:33:40, he moves up the
branch & out of view 12:37:21; D comes back down the branch into view
12:55:45; D walks over to the pantry area 1:27:30; D hops to LB 1:40:31 &
turns around to face the BD; D flies off (I think) 1:44:26; M stretches her
wings & gets up 1:53:48; M out BSD 3:38:14; the wind has really picked up
and the tree is swaying by the time M returns at 3:41:26; the rains starts a
couple minutes later & M is pelted, she hunkers down & rides out the
storm; the rain subsides & M gets up 5:42:38; M
out FD 6:54:32; D lands on LB 6:59:44, hops to nest 7:00:01, moves a stick
& does some more tidying up; D to LB 7:08:01 & out 7:08:10; per chat, M & D were in & out a couple more times this evening.

in BSD w/long, skinny stick 6:28:32am; D hops & pulls stick all the way onto
the nest 6:28:40, places it on left rail; IR light off 6:30:28; D out BSD
6:37:50. Alas, Mom & Dad did not show up at the nest while our B3BB Buddie
Gea was there today; but hopefully she’ll get a glimpse of them sooner or later
during her visit. IR light on 8:48:50pm.

BSD 3:21:56; D in BSD 3:24:51 & he moves a stick; D to front-right rail
3:38:01; D hops to RB 3:38:07& out 3:38:45; D in BSD w/stick 3:42:21; brief
stick war 3:42:26 & a bit of beaking 3:42:32; nest still swaying in the
wind as D hops to LB 3:53:40 & holds on tight; D flies off 3:55:43; M lays
down 4:27:51; M watches something 5:37:15 & quickly hops to her feet
5:37:19; M digs in the nest 5:43:34, shakes her head 5:44:58 before hunkering
down in the bole; wind dies down a bit & M stands up 6:04:48; M flies out
FD 6:06:55; D in BSD 7:32:21, he digs in the nest a bit, looks around, then
flies out BSD 7:35:50; IR light on 7:37:31pm.

6:02:17; Cam 1 reset 6:02:24; D in BSD w/stick 6:04:44; D, with feather-bling
on his beak, places the stick on the front rail 6:04:49, moves the stick to the
left 6:05:09; D digs in the nest 6:05:16 and ends up with more beak bling
(fluff or string) 6:06:03; D out BSD 6:07:11. D in BSD 12:18:50, he looks
around intently; D puffs up, vocalizes & goes into defense mode as a juvie
lands on RB 12:25:46; after the initial confrontation, D moves away & the
juvie remains perched 12:25:53; D chatters & calls out as he tracks M
12:28:05; M in BSD12:28:23 & she’s not happy; M lets the juvie know in no
uncertain terms of her discontent by vocalizing loudly with D joining in, but
once again the juvie seems unconcerned & remains perched on RB; for the
next 1 ½ hours, it’s a stand-off w/M perched on the back rail, D in the middle
of the nest w/his back to the juvie, who is still perched on the RB; but then D
gets mad when the juvie moves around on the branch 1:48:40 & then has the
nerve to hop down to the right rail 1:49:25; D moves over & M goes
ballistic 1:49:36; juvie starts to put a foot on the nest & M jumps into
action chasing the juvie back to the RB 1:52:31 & vocalizing big time; juvie
finally flies off at 2:19:43 & D tells him/her “good
riddance!”; D sticks around guarding the nest w/M for the next 1 ½ hours then
he flies out the BD 3:39:25; >>>M still on nest 7:00:50 when D flies
in BSD; M to LB 7:05:01 & out 7:05:23; D to LB 7:07:50 & out 7:08:13;
IR light on 7:29:06pm.
Wednesday - April 10, 2019

nips at M's bling 6:07:00; D steps onto front-right rail 6:09:03, D flies out
6:10:29; D in FD w/stick 6:11:55; D wrestles his stick onto the nest 6:12:04
& places it on the right rail (then trims it); D to front-right rail
6:17:21 & flies out 6:17:40; D in FD w/leafy-green stick 6:20:18; D places
his stick then tweaks several others; D pokes M with a stick & she nips at
him 6:26:18; D tracks something flying overhead 6:28:45; D flies out BSD
