causing M to duck; for the next 20 minutes, M & D spent some good quality
time rockin’ & rollin’ on the nest then D starts digging in the bole
9:15:17; beaking at 9:16:52 when M tries to help D fluff; satisfied that the
bole is just right, D lays down 9:17:02 kicking up his talons & giving us a
great look at his white tail feathers; D gets up 9:20:56; beaking at 9:33:02
then more fluffing by D as M towers over him; D moves to the right rail & M
spreads a little fluff 9:34:57 then preens; D gives M a peck 9:35:32 then lays
back down in the bole 9:36:04; D gets up 9:56:44, fluffs, turns around, fluffs,
loses a tail feather & lays back down 9:57:47; D gets up 10:24:50, steps up
on right front rail & flies out over RB 10:26:05; M tracks D as he flies
from left to right in the background 10:43:16; D in BSD w/stick 10:43:19, which
gets placed on the right rail; D fluffs 10:44:15; M yawns 10:50:09; D out BSD

close look at eggs but doesn't roll them 7:07:30, moves a stick 7:07:44,
snuggles down 7:07:50; IR light off 7:08:24; D stands up to roll eggs &
reposition 7:18:30, 7:26:56, 7:38:58, 7:47:53; D dozes off 8:14:38 & 8:30:40
(so cute); egg duty for D 8:34:23, then he gets feisty with twigs in front of
him; D says, “Enough of this” and just plain ole’ tucks his head to catch a few
Zzzzzz’s 8:49:50; he wakes up 9:02:16 feeling refreshed & twig feisty again;
D gets up 9:08:34 & moves away from the bole, he searches the area &
calls out to M 9:08:47 then flies out the BSD 9:09:07; D returns to back left
side rail 9:09:59, he looks around & vocalizes 9:10:12; D watches the area
intently as if there may be an intruder in the area 9:10:57; satisfied things
are ok, D heads to the bole 9:12:18 to tend to his eggs; S/C #2 D gets up 9:39:28 & flies out the BSD 9:39:44; M lands
on LB 9:40:28, hops to nest 9:40:50; M rolls-n-fluffs, repositions &
rolls-n-fluffs some more, she shimmies down 9:42:45; not quite right, M

out again 7:08:18, M answers from nearby 7:09:22 (may be on one of the left or
lower branches); D stands up & looks around 7:10:41, rolls eggs 7:10:59,

crashes down into the nest from the upper left branches 7:21:09, practically
landing on D! D quickly stands up & chirps at her 7:21:19, D to RB &
still talking 7:21:24, M rolls eggs 7:22: D rouses or leaves 7:22:56; M calls
out 7:25:34 & D answers (sounds like he left the nest tree); after
rolling-n-fluffing, M settles down on the eggs 7:28:26pm. Sirens

preens 5:21:45; M wakes up & calls out & chatters to D 5:45:45, she
yawns 5:47:04, preens & tucks her head for more sleep 5:47:22. MORN: M
preens 6:47:19, yawns/crop drop 6:52:55, tucks her head 6:53:15 to catch a few
more Zzzzz’s; M wakes up & hollers & chatters for D 7:01:34. S/C #1 M
gets up 7:20:18 chirping & stretching, she flies out the BSD 7:21:01; D lands
on LB 7:21:29 & hops to nest 7:21:32, checks the eggs & snuggles down
7:22:01; IR light off 7:23:14; D up for egg duty 7:25:17 & 7:45:12; D tucks
his head to catch a few Zzzzz’s 7:56:33-8:00:03; D takes his egg duty very
seriously – he gets up for egg duty 8:04:32, 8:26:52, 8:50:57, 9:37:13, 9:48:50

dropping for the next 5 minutes, or else she has something stuck in her throat;
M calls out 7:20:15, she continues to call out periodically for the next 5
minutes & then her chirping gets louder at 7:28:57; M still calling out 7:35:40;
IR light off 7:37:27; M gets up 7:38:17, rolls the eggs 7:38:37 & fluffs
the fluff; she rolls the eggs again 7:38:57 & fluffs some more, another
roll 7:39:47; M lays back down 7:40:39; S/C #1 D in BSD w/fluff 7:44:05, M
stands up 7:44:33, hops to LB 7:44:56 & out 7:45:07, D rolls eggs 7:45:22,
wigggles down onto them 7:45:45 and starts pecking at fluff; gets up to roll
eggs 7:47:11, shimmies down 7:47:37, rolls/fluffs 8:02:55 & 8:28:07 &
8:35:03; Cam 1 reset 8:51am. S/C #2 M in FD w/stick 10:16:58, M offers D the
stick 10:17:08 but after exchanging a few "words" D hops to LB

10:18:45 & fluffs fluff, snuggles down 10:21:56. Ground report per BEP: “Mom
was on perch when I got here. Dad came out to it at shift break and flew off
after 15 mins or so.” M up 10:23:04, she does some heavy-duty fluffing &
rolling; M snuggles down 10:25:13; M gets up 10:54:51 to fluff/roll, shimmies
back down 10:57:03; M raises up a bit 11:44:30 then shimmies down 11:44:35; M
yawns 12:17:02pm, she gets up 12:17:36 for roll/fluff duty; M grabs a nearby
stick 12:18:51 presumably to move it, but the back end is wedged in the rail
& she is unsuccessful; M spreads her left wing & carefully raises up
her left talon as she repositions herself to grab the stick again 12:19:36,
still doesn’t work; M rolls/fluffs 12:19:45, she tries to settle back down but
that dang stick is in her way 12:20:42; in between struggling w/the stick, she
dutifully checks her eggs 12:21:37; M says, “Enough of this!” and turns partially
around so the stick isn’t in her face 12:22:25, she rolls/fluffs & shimmies
down 12:22:38; M preens 12:34:03; M reacts to something she's hearing 12:46:38,
another noise 12:47:11 & M alerts by calling out 12:47:13, M squees/chirps

& fluff, she shimmies down 4:54:24; M tracks something 5:07:13, yells out a
brief warning 5:07:34; M chirps (sees D?) 5:16:19; D calls to M 6:06:09 & M
answers back 6:06:12; IR light on 6:08:00. M hears something 6:37:42, Rocky
appears on a back-right branch 6:37:26 & jumps to the Cam 2 branch 6:37:49
as Adrianne scurries up back branch, M wing slaps & stands up 6:47:50,
Rocky jumps off the branch 6:47:51 & Adrianne scurries away. M stands up
8:41:51, PS's 8:42:00 (it curves out toward 11 o'clock branch), does some
rolling & fluffing, another PS 8:45:32, more rolling & fluffing &
preening, rolling & fluffing, finally settling down on the eggs 8:54:38pm. M
stands up 10:43:17, scratches her head 10:43:57, small PS out the back of the
nest 10:44:16, stretches wing & foot 10:44:23, calls out 10:44:32, steps to
back of nest 10:44:39 as D answers her call, another PS 10:45:05, moves back to

M starts work on delivering Egg #2: M stands up 6:19:19 and shifts her feet as feathers are slightly ruffled, shakes her head 6:19:34 then looks down at the nest 6:19:37, jerks as if there's a hiccup 6:19:46, she looks out the back of the nest as if checking on D's whereabouts 6:20:03, shifts her feet as feathers ruffle 6:20:47, looks out the back again 6:21:03 then resumes her careful study of the nest, starts making whistling-chirping sounds 6:22:18 as feathers ruffle with a contraction, shifts her feet 6:22:59 & 6:23:20, back feathers really stands up 6:23:50 as she progresses, spine briefly shudders in waves 6:24:32 as she bears down making shrill squeaky noises, frequent contractions & pushes & shudders 6:25:18, starts final pushes 6:26:57; first glimpse of Egg #2 at 6:27:22 as M shifts her foot and goes into recovery mode.

repositions 12:46:44 & fluffs the fluff; M warbles (stretches) 12:47:22; M
preens her shoulder 12:50:13; M preens chest/belly 1:25:01; waggles her tail
1:25:34; sirens heard from the street, after they pass M & D chatter
1:41:20. M preens 2:24:18; M tucks her head for some sleep time 2:30:44, she
awakens to preen 3:31:32, scratches head 3:33:56, she tucks her head to sleep
3:34:54; M wakes up 4:19:39, PS off the right front rail 4:22:59; more sleepy

9:31:55; D in BSD with a small UFO (bird?) 10:00:03, he leaves the tidbit for M
& nestorizes; M in FD 10:05:29, she gets the UFO 10:05:52 & scarfs it
down 10:05:58; D works on Twiggy 10:15:22; D out BSD 10:17:42; M squees as D
approaches the nest 10:19:25, D in BD with branch 10:19:26, he totes it around
trying to get it placed & M tries to help 10:20:07 which causes D to get
caught up between the fork in it 10:20:14, he finally gets it placed on the
left front rail 10:22:55; after sitting a spell w/M, D heads out the BSD
10:37:30; D in FD w/forked pinecone branch 10:42:03; M tries to help 10:42:24,
D gets it placed on the left rail 10:43:22; D scratches his
head 10:54:28, he yawns 11:00:43 then hops to the RB 11:00:53 & out
11:01:09; D in FD w/branch 11:04:41, M takes it 11:05:02, but D gets it back

& straightening up the nest, D steps up on the LB 12:55:12 & flies off
12:55:22; D in FD with a huge pinecone branch 1:11:36, this one gets placed on
the front rail 1:12:40; D fluffs the bole & lays down (shimmying all the
way) 1:15:31; after a much deserved rest, D takes off out the BSD 1:30:49. IR
light on 5:48:58. D in FD with a small UFO 5:56:44; after eating his snack, D
flies up to the 11-o’clock branch 6:05:05pm. D moves higher up the 11-o'clock
branch 7:28:01; hops to nest 8:15:57; goes to RB 8:19:19; flapping sound
8:47:16pm (Dad either roused, flapped wings or flew off).
