5): It is 52º there now and Mom is sleeping with her head tucked on her back
6:15am; M wakes up and starts preening with head still tucked 6:47:33; Mom is
up at 6:58:17 and B13 is almost completely cover with straw; M snuggles back
down 6:59:49; Mom stands up 7:01: 10 and stretches her wings 7:01:23, calls for
D 7:01:33 then flaps her wings 7:01:47; D lands on LB 7:02:04 and M & D
chatter while M wingflaps 7:02:09; M offers B12 a bite and B12 face plants
7:02:58, M offers again and feeds a chirping B12 7:03:05; D leans forward
several times to watch the feeding 7:06:49 ; D moves down LB 7:08:36; S/C #1 D to nest 7:08:46, M flaps her
wings 7:08:54 & flies out BSD 7:09:21, D snuggles down 7:09:40; D raises up and uses beak to nudge B12 back
under 7:09:51, snuggling down again 7:10:00; IR light off 7:17:18; raining at
7:30am; M flies behind nest 8:12:18; S/C
#2 M in FD w/headless fish 8:12:28, M moves the fish to the pantry 8:12:49,
D moves off B12 8:13:15, M feeds B12 some fish 8:13:35, D flies out BSD
8:13:37; feeding over and M moves to cover B12 and B13 M 8:19:36, snuggles down
8:20:17; M repositions 8:20:38; D in BSD w/fluff 10:03:48, M stands up 10:04:19
& moves toward the pantry 10:04:38, M picks up nestover squirrel 10:04:58
then eats part of it; M drags squirrel to the pantry & D moves to front of
nest 10:05:28; M feeds B12 10:05:56; D to right rail 10:07:16 then hops to RB
10:07:42, flies out 10:08:18; M stretches wings 10:10:23; M squeals when D
lands on LB 10:11:26; S/C #3 M flaps
wings 10:12:36 and flies out BSD 10:13:00, D hops to nest 10:13:16, snuggles
down on eaglets 10:13:46; M flies from back to front left (low to the ground) 10:14:11;
S/C #4 D stands up 11:59:33, flaps
wings as he moves near BSD 11:59:40, D flies out BSD 11:59:50 and M flies in
BSD w/fluff 11:59:52, M spreads fluff 12:00:00, B12 PS 12:00:20 then lifts head
to chirp at M 12:00:44, M stares down at B13 12:01:19 then positions herself
over the eaglets 12:01:33, M fluffs the fluff, snuggles down 12:02:12; feeding
12:30:08; M calls to D as he flies in FD w/fish 12:41:14, D looks around for a
minute then flies out BSD 12:42:20; M repositions 12:44:41; M stands up 1:39:37
& calls for D 1:39:51, S/C #5 M
flies out BSD 1:40:42, D lands on LB 1:41:37 & chatters w/Mom, D hops to
nest 1:42:46, D picks up nestover squirrel 1:42:50, D feeds B12 squirrel then
fish 1:43:18; D snuggles down on the eaglets 1:46:52; B12 is peeking out so D
raises up to reposition 1:47:33 (D doesn’t quite have the girth as M, lol), B12
all tucked under 1:47:44; B12 is squirming under D so he raises up, rouses
1:47:55 then wiggle wiggles; D up to reposition 1:48:20 & 2:17:56; D yawns
2:52:45 & 2:52:51; D up 2:53:04, heads to the pantry & pulls up
nestovers; D eats & B12 PS’s 2:53:29; D feeds B12 2:54:05, D snuggles down
2:56:37; S/C #6 D tracks M 3:19:08;
M in FD w/stick 3:19:24; D to LB 3:19:46 & out 3:19:56; M eats some fish
& gives B12 a few bites B12 3:20:31; M tries to down the remaining fish in
one gulp 3:21:25 but is unsuccessful; she puts it down & offers B12 a bite
3:21:35 then eats more herself, M gulps the tail down 3:22:02 then starts in on
nestovers 3:22:32, she feeds B12 3:23:46; eating/feeding finished, M has a
difficult time getting to the bole & get situated 3:27:14; she finally
manages to snuggle down 3:28:44; M watches something intently out the FD
4:07:55, she begins to squee 4:09:15, squees get louder as D flies in FD w/a
luscious fresh fish (& it’s a whole one!) 4:09:22; S/C #7 M gets up 4:10:06 & starts to eat/feed; D flies up to 11
o’clock branch 4:10:55, he hops to nest 4:14:54 & moves a stick; D tells M
to go on & take a break (he’s ready to brood) 4:15:39; M out BSD 4:15:54; D
snuggles down 4:16:19 but little bobblehead is peeking out; D up 4:21:47 &
gets B13’s little body in his beak & places it in the pantry 4:22:14 (very
sad to see); D goes back to the bole & snuggles down 4:22:30; S/C #8 M in BSD w/branch 4:35:45, she
struggles with it & drops it on D & he tries to get it off 4:36:00; M
grabs it back & D gets up 4:36:03 & together they move it to the left
back rail 4:36:30; M grabs the fish 4:36:55 & D hops to RB 4:36:58 &
out 4:37:15; M doesn’t realize she’s standing on B13’s body as she nibbles off
a few bites of fish then starts feeding B12 4:37:30; finished feeding, M
aerates the bole, spreads some fluff, aerates some more & finally shimmies
down 4:44:25; M moves the squirrel pelt and the fish moves with it, while still
snuggling B12 5:37:31; She grabs the fish and tries to swallow it 5:37:40; Not
being able to do it while brooding, she gets up with it in her mouth 5:37:57; M
nibbles at it and finally swallows it 5:39:26; M starts on the squirrel
5:39:44; Feeds B12 5:40:27; S/C #9 D
in to LB w/fluff 5:47:22 startling M a bit; to nest 5:47:26; D tries to snuggle
B12 5:49:17; M out BSD 5:50:31; D wiggles onto B12 5:50:51; S/C #10 M in to LB 6:15:11; D greets
her then gets up 6:15:34; He heads toward back door, turns around and gives B12
a kiss 6:16:12 and snuggles a bit more; D gets up again 6:16:43; M hops to nest
6:16:46; M grabs squirrel pelt as D goes out BD 6:16:58; M nibbles a bit then
feeds baby 6:18:58; Feeding finished, M moves back to bole 6:24:36; M wiggles
onto B12 6:26:18; IR light comes on 6:44:29pm.
